I switched to Cassyva at Rank 2 when my Dervish Zirix list’s winrate began plummeting. I was pretty rusty with Cassyva and the list I started with was a lot different, but after a dozen games or so I was feeling pretty confident and the list was mostly where it is now. I actually hit S-Rank on a 5-win streak with this list; it’s very consistent and can flip the tables on your opponent really fast with its many built-over-time win conditions while healing disgusting amounts of health in single games through proper employment of Shadow Sister Kelaino.
This list is pretty identical to a version I’ve seen on Reddit and I’ve seen a lot of other players having success with identical or near-identical lists; I think this is probably the strongest variant of Cassyva at the moment.
Hey there everybody, Raine here! Just a few updates for you, first and foremost: I hit S-Rank for October 2016! I’ll be talking a lot more about my experience in an upcoming video. I mainly played Dervish Vetruvian, but at Rank 2 I swapped over to Aggro Cassyva because the Vet list was starting to slide really close to under a 55% winrate. I cleared my way to S after another 31 games for a total of 97 season wins. The first dozen or so I was really trying out a lot of different techs; I think Grasp of Agony is still hard to make use of against a lot of decks but a single Ghost Azalea won me several games – people never seem to play around that one.
A huge thank you to everyone who came by my stream and cheered me on and my friends in-game for the same well wishes. I know it really isn’t a huge deal (at least in my opinion) but it was the goal I set for myself in Duelyst this month and I’m happy that I achieved it.
See you all soon! Expect the Aggro Cassyva decklist very soon.
Just wanted to reach out and inform everyone that I currently cannot log into my Twitter. Long story short: the telephone number associated with my Twitter is old and Twitter wants me to verify a code they are sending to that phone number due to some security concern, so I’m waiting on their customer support to get back to me on how to resolve this.
This means I cannot announce streams. I’m not sure if my automated tweets regarding my YouTube videos will still come through or not. I also cannot view my feed, respond to any messages, follow/unfollow/retweet etc. until this is resolved. I’m incredibly sorry for my absence at this time and hope that I can resolve this as quickly as possible and make it up to anyone I’ve disappointed. I’ll still be streaming and grinding for S-Rank; I just won’t be able to announce streams as directly or tweet my thoughts about things like new cards, the state of the meta, or my decklists for the time being.
Thank you for your patience and please look forward to my return to Twitter c:
Note: Devildriven pointed out that the second Zyx will be a 3/4 since the copy of the 2/3 will receive Kara’s buff after it is summoned. This makes sense and also means Lady Locke’s should as well. Exciting!
Fiery War Pax
I wasn’t getting enough value out of the two copies of Rae previously included, so I’ve cut them in lieu of two Ephemeral Shroud, a more dependable dispel. I’m currently at Rank 2 with this deck, and have had a ~70+% winrate with it in my last 15 games.
I really like opening by moving forward two spaces and placing a Pax in front of my general (typically). This is a significantly powerful start, especially if you are Player 1, and its success has led to the nickname Fiery War Pax, after the hallmark Hearthstone weapon that drastically improves a warrior’s chances of winning any given game if it is in their starting hand.
I’m still making tweaks to the list – let me know what techs are/aren’t working out for you and what you’re running in place! Footage will be up on my YouTube very soon of me playing this deck with great success if you’re looking for some pointers.
See you all next time!
